Alice Hur

Alice Hur is a practitioner of a street dance style called waacking (originally named punking) and has been performing, competing, and teaching this art form for the past decade.

Her accomplishments include winning multiple Bay Area waacking titles, placing as a finalist at Ladies First Jam in San Diego, and winning Spring Break Battle with her 3v3 team in Seattle. She is the founder of the Bay Area event series, Waack, Crackle, Lock!

In 2022, she created San Jose Waacking—a free and open outdoor training session highlighting this dance. Alice was awarded a California Arts Council Fellowship in 2023 and is serving as a 2024 Creative Ambassador for the City of San Jose.
